This wine is a a 50/50 combination of Syrah and Monastrell/Matara/Mourvedre.  Lately, I have found a new love for Mourvedre because of a phenomenal one from Spain, and there is a Sicilian Syrah I know that makes you want to slap your mama.

This wine is velvety on the tongue with smooth tannins and a flavor that reminds you of black currants and a touch of spice.  Actually, if this wine was a woman -- and it is named Southern Belle -- most men would fall at it's feet.  The finish does have the mildest scintilla of both tobacco and cherry.

This is a lovely beast!

Our Mission: Wine Her is aimed at showing the romantic intersection of wines and women. It will not only explore wine suggestions and choices that would be extremely palatable to the largest percentage of female wine drinkers, but also to those that have some not so stereotypical tastes of lighter and/or sweeter wines. Additionally, we'll have some great discussions, debates, stories and articles for men in regards to women, wine, and relationships.
